Tip #1

Choose your outfits in advance and try them on to make sure you like how they look and feel! It's so important that you feel comfortable during our session together so that you can focus on having fun! Clients have told me that they don't know where to start when choosing outfits for their family, and I always tell the moms to start with their outfit first and base everyone else's off of theirs!

Tip #2

Bring snacks and a favorite toy for little ones! Asking a toddler to sit and smile for an hour just isn't going to happen. Thankfully that's not how my family sessions are! We ease into photos by exploring a little bit and getting comfortable with the camera. Sometimes we pause to eat a snack, and I might use their favorite toy to help them look my way.

Tip #3

Remove hair ties and other items that you don't want in your photos! I usually remind you of this when I notice them, or I'll ask if you'd like to keep your watch on in photos. It's also a good idea to empty your pockets when you arrive! Wallets, keys and phones can make for lumpy pockets that aren't flattering.

Tip #4

Bring any props or special items that you would like in your photos! I typically do not provide props for my lifestyle sessions, but if there is a special item that you would like included, I would love to showcase it.
