my journey to KNOXVILLE Maternity + lifestyle Newborn PHOTOGRAPhy

A New Dream

From the time I was 5 years old I set my heart on becoming a teacher, and never wavered from that dream. Most people don't actually become what they write on their "What do you want to be when you grow up?" worksheet in Kindergarten, but I did! So you can imagine my confusion when around my 6th year into teaching elementary special education I was dreaming a different dream. I was craving creativity + connection as well as a fresh start!

Finding My Niche

My small business began with a jack-of-all-trades method as I worked with Knoxville couples, seniors, families, and even photographed a small wedding! But when I had an in-home lifestyle newborn session something inside me just lit up! Being with the family in their safe space capturing their closeness and details of this new tiny human was fascinating to me. There's something so unique about each maternity + newborn session and the sweet joy and anticipation of this season of life that has captured my heart!

Nostalgic . Serene . Storyteller

I carefully chose these three pillar words to not only describe myself, but the experience you will have as a client of mine. I am a very intentional person and you can feel that through my images!

I am a Knoxville native but lived in Chattanooga for seven years as I went to college and taught special education there afterward. Chattanooga will always hold a special place in my heart because that's where I met the love of my life! Alex and I have been married since October of 2019 and he is my rock and best friend.

Fun Facts

We have a Jack Russell named Baxter or "Baby" who we are **obsessed** with, and we spoil him silly!

Alex and I love going on hikes and exploring nature together, and in 2023 went on our ultimate bucket list trip to Switzerland!

I'm a houseplant nerd and have a Fiddle Leaf Fig named Leonard that touches the ceiling!

I'm an enneagram type 9 "the peacemaker" and am an introvert at heart. Being an empathetic and observant person helps me capture moments that others might not see!

What should I wear? What should baby wear?

Solid, neutral colors are flattering and pair well with my editing style. It's always fun to mix in textures as well! (Think a cute linen or knit outfit on baby!) Try to stick to one pattern in the group, multiple patterns can be distracting. Pro tip for mom- find an outfit you love first, and base everyone else's off yours! As long as you're comfortable and love what you have on, your confidence will shine through!

How and when are the photos delivered?

Your gallery will be delivered via email in a pin-protected digital gallery that you can download directly onto your phone or desktop. My delivery time is 2 weeks after your session, but you can expect a "sneak-peek" gallery via text within 48 hours of your session!

When should I book my maternity session?

I recommend that we schedule your session when you are between 28-34 weeks along. The goal is for you to feel confident and comfortable and this is the time frame that I typically suggest. Every pregnancy is unique, however, and we may decide to book outside of this window once we start chatting! I suggest reaching out to me early on in your pregnancy (or once you decide you want photos!) to make sure we get the best date that works for you!

How are newborn photos scheduled?

Together we choose a tentative date that's around two weeks after your due date. I typically schedule newborn sessions at 10:00 a.m. on weekday mornings. When baby arrives, we can move the date around if needed!
